Two brothers were having a conversation in a luxurious sedan heading towards the railway station. One was an army officer who was reporting back to his base and the other was a businessman who was driving the sedan to drop his brother at the station.
The Conversation was as follows :
Businessman: Army has such huge reserves of money and full backing from the government, still they hire trains to bring their courageous, brave-hearted soldiers back to their camps. They could have easily afforded airplanes to serve the purpose. Also, it would have been much faster for them and comfortable for the officers.
Army Officer: HAHAHA... Nice suggestion. I am sure you would have traveled a lot in airplanes for your business trips and find it more comfortable.
I agree with you but in the view of a soldier, the feeling that we get after spending long hours on the train is not comparable to the few hours spent on the flight.
Businessman: What feeling ??
Army Officer: Have you ever traveled on a train?
Businessman: Yes I did, a few years back but let me tell you that my experience was horrible. All that crowd is not tolerable. If you find anything interesting in it, then tell me your experience.
Army Officer was ready with his answer as after his first trip in a train he penned down the entire journey and converted it into a poem. So here it is:
Journey On a Train
As soon as I left
For a beautiful long journey on the train
With memories trickling down my
brain
How marvelous the entire scene
was
Sitting with new people and seats
surplus
Traveling on the train for the
first time
Was a thrilling and exciting ride
Looking outside the window and
Feeling the nature and breeze felt
like a pride
I could use all my senses to feel
the wind on my skin
The robotic voice that I could
hear on the platforms - ting ting
I was all hypnotized by the magic
this journey possessed
Otherwise, how was it possible,
Not to do anything, sitting on a
seat and still not restless
For a little warm-up when I get
down at an intermediate station
I always remain worried for if I
miss the rail
But remaining happy with the
thought
As it will turn the mesmerizing
journey into a tale
How do I tackle the mess the
adjacent family makes
Very crowdy, very noisy,
And problematic kids
But their sparking eyes cooled
down my anger
All that I could see was an
adventure
Embracing these things was a
choice by default
Adding to the life a pinch of salt
How can I forget the food party
To which I was invited by the
sweet family
My tongue could feel the best day
ever
Having the gracious meal madly
All these experiences never lose
my sight
Whenever I see a train passing by
Expecting a time full of bliss
again
I hardly wanted to remain sane.
The businessman nodded his head indicating that now he agrees all that he faced in a train which was similar to his brother was not horrible. The way of looking at things of his brother is a more matured one as compared to his which was a byproduct of million-dollar deals he cracked during his tenure. His brother being an army officer is more equipped physically and mentally to face all the atrocities life may throw and founds happiness in all the situations.
Takeaway from the story: Our happiness depends upon how we look at events that take place in our life.
