The Extremists - A different set of people
Now who do I call extremist?
It's those who do everything in extreme. What do I mean by
that?
For example, when exams are near students tend to
complete the whole syllabus in one day. So, it's like putting extreme efforts in 1
single day rather than studying on a consistent basis. So, are they extremists?
Nope.
I call those extremists who tend to do everything in extreme
manner.
Again, another example - I generally tend to immerse myself
into anything that I’m engaged in. So, if I’m into sports I become very
competitive and look for only winning. If I’m into studying I stretch it to
longer hours without food and water.
Now it's not only in things that I’m engaged into. It's also
in human emotions. So, if I’m sad I’m very sad, if I’m happy I’m very happy, and
if I’m excited again very excited.
So, this is what I call being extreme into things and
becoming an extremist.
Let's dive into the topic and understand its pros and cons.
Becoming an extremist is a choice and on occasion which
demands so, it's a right attitude. It shows hardworking and never give up
spirit. It makes you do such things and take such risks that one could not have
imagined. It brings a lot of improvement. Nothing feels more important than the
task in hand.
But when someone becomes an extremist, I feel they tend to
ignore a larger part of life and become more focused on few things only which
they consider to be of most relevance. This makes them a bit isolated from
all the events happening around them and they start enjoying that. They feel
it's okay to be like that. They feel it's okay to ignore food, water, friends,
family, socialising, experiencing adventures, etc for their work which could be
anything depending upon the profession. And this is backed by the achievements
they get following their "extreme" routine.
All this makes it tougher for their well-wishers to explain to them the importance to have a balanced lifestyle. But then like I believe the time
teaches you everything, They will sooner or later start feeling exhausted and
will want to enjoy their life and find people to do that. But then no one will
come forward to help them and make them feel special because someone would have
definitely ask you for the same in the past and you declined their offer.
This is how you will repent not enjoying your life, making it boring and
this is what you get by over-prioritising things and ignoring other important
and for you not so "relevant" things. This is only one aspect of it.
Another aspect is health issues.
Not consuming your food or water adequately for one day or changing the timings is fine. But continuing the same for a longer period of time will have a disastrous impact in the future. There are various bacteria and viruses that exist within our body and doesn't develop into a full-grown disease if we take proper care of our health. But then lack of awareness and care for our health makes us sick and we tend to blame our schedule, family, genes, environment, time, destiny, and whatnot.
We don't introspect and continue the same pattern for years
making it more and more difficult for us. Life expectancy is going down and we
believe that in today's time it's happening to all of us. If this is the truth
then why do the Japanese have so high an expectancy of 80 and above and Indians are dying
at 60. We have stopped introspection. So please start doing it.
I will explain more about introspection, the importance of
health, becoming mentally strong, and other very interesting topics in the
upcoming blogs and I will discuss them in detail. Also, I write poems on various
genres and will start sharing the same very soon.
So, I believe that I have explained about extremists from my
point of view and my personal experience. I have not concluded whether it is
right or wrong because why judge anyone. Everybody has a choice in their life
and liberty to follow it but not at the cost of their life. So, keeping this in
mind take your decision whether to continue being the same or bring certain
changes.
Till then smile and live your life to the fullest. Stop over
prioritising and give due importance to every event in your life or else you
will have numerous certificates and awards but not a single happy memory to
think about, not a single person to listen to you when you want to say your
heart out, and there will be no nostalgic feeling in your life. Enjoy and enjoy
!!!!!
